Bones Brigade Documentary Teaser

Walk down any street in any town, and you are destined to see someone riding a skateboard. Well, it wasn’t always like that. In the early ’80s, skateboarding was fading away until Stacy Peralta brought a profoundly talented group of outsiders together and dubbed them the Bones Brigade. This documentary chronicles their epic rise, using awesome archival footage and moving first-person accounts from Brigade members Steve Caballero, Tommy Guerrero, Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain, and Rodney Mullen, among others. Through passion, drive, creativity, and a surprising sense of teamwork, they revitalized the sport and influenced generations.

Stussy – Parra Interview | Video

Over the years, the almost thirty-year-old Stussy brand has collaborated with a variety of artists to bring their own unique flavor to their apparel. For their upcoming Spring 2012 Collection, Stussy paired up with Dutch artist Parra, who is well-known in streetwear circles for his signature curvy images, bold colors, vibrant lettering, and interesting characters across a variety of media, including paintings, animation, and sculpture. In a video from his Amsterdam studio, Parra  discusses the sources of his inspiration that make their way into his art — including a short-lived role as a foster parent of a crow, his love of old-school comic books (and hate of the color yellow), and his own father’s interest in drawings nude chubby women — which help to explain the evolution of his style into what we see today. Bentley Continental GT V8 - Flying Over Munich - Video

Bentley‘s logo may have wings, but the vehicles themselves don’t. This doesn’t necessarily preclude automotive flight, however — the British luxury carmaker debuted its new 4.0-liter V8 Continental GT coupe over the city of Munich, as the vehicle soared above downtown buildings tethered to a helicopter. While curious onlookers gawked, the car arrived at its destination on a special podium atop a high-rise near Munich’s city center. Klaus Becker, general manager of Bentley  Munich, would dryly comment that the helicopter was simply “the fastest way to get to the rooftop podium.” 300 VIP guests celebrated the launch of the Continental V8 nearby at the SkyLounge, situated in a bridge between two skyscrapers.  Check out video of the airborne journey following the click.

Video: Vans OTW Live in Berlin

Recently Vans OTW held a massive event in Berlin during Bread & Butter and invited not only their latest advocates, including Lupe Fiasco, to town, but also Mos Def. They performed on stage in Berlin for hundreds of fans that had to fight to get a ticket for the exciting evening.

Supra Presents Spencer Hamilton | Video

Supra presents a video profile of team rider Spencer Hamilton. Spencer explains his still developing career trajectory, from first hearing about Supra in 2006 and subsequently meeting the team — as he describes them, “all the biggest heads” — when they stopped in during a Canadian tour for a signing at the skate shop where he worked. Cut to present day, in which Spencer finds himself in London to sit for the team photo, surrounded by guys he once looked up to and now counts as peers. Video: The Roots – Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around

Off the Soundtrack to a Revolution soundtrack, available for pre-order now.

On February 14th, the soundtrack to the film Soundtrack to a Revolution will be released. It features contemporary artists singing traditional Civil Rights-era freedom songs. The Roots perform “Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around” in this clip, which juxtaposes black-and-white footage of 20th-century Civil Rights protests with color footage of the band performing in a recording studio.
